Classes suspended because of the typhoon. A birthday to celebrate. Lunch for 2 is now lunch for 4. Those elves got lucky!
Lunch at Manila Peninsula’s Escolta it was. The buffet spread may not be as long and varied but hey, we’re not complaining. For starters, the sashimi and sushi bar is tempting. As this retiree woke up late, this brunch started with a good cup of my favorite brew. Then some salmon and tuna sashimi.
The lechon kawali in all its sinfulness. Some choice meat good for flame-grilling. All-beef burgers or steaks and fish as well. Much that I wanted to indulge myself, I stuffed myself with the sashimi, prawns, salad and soup so I can forget about the meat dishes.
Let the elves have their fill. Those extra calories work for them growing boy and girl. Not for moí. Every spoonful adds an inch to my waist and hips. 😢. So I stuck to my greens and seafood diet. Got to skip the carving ang grilling section……
Now, I may have managed to skip the meats but it was a short lived pride. All willpower broke down as soon as I found the cheeses and desserts.
Well….. Those mango crepes and yogurt ice creams were truly good. I hardly felt guilty for those meal-ender pleasures. After all, I skipped some favorites to leave room for these. 😃
All those choices. We stayed a good 3 hours enjoying our lunch. A day well spent at the Pen.
